I have a fear of wet-on-wet watercolor techniques, mainly because it seems largely uncontrollable and unpredictable. I’m practicing with it as of late and I realize with a little bit of forethought and pre-applying water to places I want to paint, I can contain the washes and blending a lot more easily. There is no predicting how the colors will blend or fade into each other, but I’ve gotten better at making sure I can put patches of colors where they belong.
