Study and Mountain in Gouache

Scan_20160323.jpg

Hi everyone, two gouache pieces for today. The first is a study from a small piece of Thomas Moran’s work, Temple Of Venus, Castle Of Baiae. The second is from personal photos of the mountains surrounding place I live.

I’ve been working on this support called Aquaboard, marketed for it’s ability to lift back to white, not buckle with washes, and for vibrant colors. It’s been very useful for small studies. I’ve wiped off one of my panels already and I’ll check back tomorrow when I’ve worked on it to give my thoughts on a second rework on an “erased” panel.
