Thoughts
Some days we come across stories that hint at seem to be hinting at a world beyond the confines of the narrative. Vague hints, weaving in and out of the plot, painting a broader place past the pages. As the hints keep dropping, your imagination keeps growing.
Coral and the King, first off is a gorgeous book. The art is a treat and the paper feels so nice (odd thing to point out, but when it’s good, it’s good).
Reading this book makes me think about the world beyond the 44 pages this narrative takes up. Where does Coral live? Where did the Forest King come from? Where are they going? These are questions that ran through my head as I read the book, thinking about the world I saw and the world of the banquet. Our world exists as we see it, but sometimes we think of a place beyond our temporary world. A place that is better than ours, with no pain and all the treasures we can’t even dream of. Perhaps a place of eternity.
Where ARE they going? You’ll have to read it to find out.
